MARBLE

Marble, limestone and sandstone are wide-ranging both in colour and patterns. Colours are often pastel and range from white, grey, yellow, green, red to blue.

Marble has been used through the centuries to grace the most lavish temples, palaces and churches around the world. This exquisite stone has long been seen as a cultural symbol of tradition and refined taste.

Working with marble can be a difficult task for the untrained stone professional due to the nature and composition of marble.

Stonehenge has two marble installation teams with extensive experience in fabricating and installing intricate marble staircases, fireplaces and vanities.

Marble consists of calcspar - broken rocks, plants and shellfish, which under high pressure and at high temperature has been formed 1.5 to 3 billion years ago. As a result of the different mineral content marble vary greatly in colour and hardness.

Marble, limestone and sandstone have many uses. They are particularly suitable for kitchens, fireplaces, staircases and in the bathroom. They create a beautiful and aesthetic space and require minimum maintenance.
